Unit 6 - Letters

Letters


Task 7 - Speaking: With a partner, act out the roles below, based on the dialogue from task 6. Then switch roles.

Use language such as:

  • Could you type ...?
  • Should I include ...
  • Please bring it to me for my signature...


A: Please, Danna, take a sit. I need you to type a letter for me.
B: Of course, boss. Who's the recipient?
A: Ana Cecilia, she's my partner.
B: Oh, I see... what's the letter about?
A: Please tell her if she could come on monday at 9 o' clock.
B: Should I use a especial greeting?
A: Dear Ana Cecilia is just fine
B: Okay, boss. Consider it done.
A: And when you finish, please bring it to me for my signature.

Task 8 - Writing: You are an assitant. Use the conversation from Task 7 and the excerpt from de manual to write a business letter to a client. Use today's date. Make up a name for the sender. Include:

  • The recipient's full name
  • A greeting
  • The purpose of the letter
  • Any enclosures.
