Task 7 - Speaking: With a partner, act out the roles below based on the dialogue from Task 6. Then switch roles.
Use language such as:
- Good morning... This is... speaking
- I'm sorry. ... isn't right now.
- I'd better leave a message with you.
A: Good morning. This is Berth speaking. How can I help you todat?
B: Hello, Berth, I'm Luis C. and I'm looking for Sussie, is she there?
A: I'm sorry but miss Sussie went to a very important business meeting. Do you want to leave a message with me?
B: Just tell her that an old friend called to chekc her out and give her my number please.
A: Consider it done.
B: Thanks, Berth
Task 8 - Writing: You are a receptionist. Use the conversation from Task 7 to leave a note for a client who missed a call. Talk about:
- Who called
- What he or she called about
- What options you provide him or her with
- How the caller reacted
Sussie,
Luis C. called you, he said he is an old friend of yours. I told him to leave a message and he just say that he wanted to check you out. He reacted in a good form, so polite.
